Mixmeister BPM Analyzer is a music program for Windows PCs.
Have you ever wanted a program that does exactly one thing? Not a program that does one thing well, or that does one unique thing - a program that does absolutely one thing that's usually packed in with a full suite. This one thing wouldn't even be as complex as a word processor. It would be a completely basic, almost superfluous tool that would better be accessed almost anywhere else. If you've dreamed of such a program, today's your lucky day - you can download Mixmeister BPM analyzer and spend too much time getting a simple program.
MixMeister BPM Analyzer allows you to analyze the beats per minutes of audio. That's it. It doesn't really allow you to do anything with that information. You can't use it as a part of a greater program, or edit music, or even save the data somewhere else. You can just do some very simple analysis. It's amazing that a standalone program like this exists, but it's there. There's probably a good reason that the program hasn't been updated in almost six years. There's really no need for anyone to download this when a hundred other free programs can do more.
There's no good reason to download MixMeister BPM Analyzer. If you like music, you can find better analyzers elsewhere. If you want to edit music, you'll get absolutely nothing out of this program. This program should stand as an example of exactly what you don't need. Unless you very specifically have to have a BPM analysis only program, there's no reason you should clutter your computer with this analyzer.

Knowing the BPM (beats per minute) of your music is of course essential for both understanding better where various genres of music fit on the BPM scale and also for mixing those tunes together once you know.
Nearly all the software people DJ with automatically calculates the BPM of your music for you – it’s part of the loading time taken when you drag a new track onto a DJ deck in Virtual DJ, Traktor or Serato etc.

But what if you don’t have DJ software yet? What if you don’t want your whole collection in your DJ software? What if you just want to fill in the BPM ID3 tag of your files in iTunes?
Luckily, there’s a little-known free program that will do that (and only that) for you. It’s from the makers of DJ mix automation software Mixmeister, and it’s called BPM Analyzer. It’s available for PC and Mac, and you can get it from here:
It couldn’t be simpler to use – you just drag and drop your files and watch MixMeister BPM Analyzer review them one by one.
I’d recommend running it overnight if you’ve got a big collection – and don’t forget to ask your iTunes (or whatever library software you use) to rescan the ID3 tags of your MP3s once you’re done. The reason is that some software (including iTunes) doesn’t do this automatically.
Have you got any little free pieces of software that you couldn’t live without? Let us know in the comments.
